Sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that, close to, or even in our own neighborhoods there are youth who are homeless. There are children who are constantly exposed to domestic violence. There are many facing daily challenges who don’t know where to go to for help.

For over 30 years, StarVista has provided high impact services through counseling, training, and crisis prevention to support people encountering such difficulties. Serving more than 35,000 people in San Mateo County every year, StarVista creates opportunities for all to live healthier, stronger, and more hopeful lives.

StarVista’s signature fundraising event is the annual Starting Line Breakfast. This popular event is a sellout every year. This year’s event will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City. John Rudella, a recently retired commander of the Navy SEALs, will be the keynote speaker, and the program will feature inspirational stories of courage and success.

The funds generated from this community event have helped to transform the lives of children, young people, adults, and families throughout our community: children whose parents have alcohol or substance addictions; youth who have aged out of the foster care system and have nowhere to go; children who have been referred to Child Protective Services; individuals who are contemplating suicide; and many, many more.

Besides the program, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with local business, community, and civic leaders who are dedicated to making the communities we live in healthy and thriving. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Sponsoring this event is a wonderful way for a business to demonstrate their commitment to strengthening our community.
