Since its start, McDowall Cotter has specialized in litigation defense for insurance companies, defending policy holders and providing coverage opinions.

Over time, our services evolved to include defense litigation for individuals, small businesses, start-ups, contractors, corporations, public entities and their employees, and non-profits.

Today, we are well known not only for our defense litigation but also for our appellate work, which has resulted in important legal precedent in the state of California, and for our guidance in other forms of dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration.

We are seasoned litigators. We are as comfortable before a jury as we are in consultation with our clients. However, in no case do we rush to trial. Disputes are unavoidable; our job is to help you resolve them as effectively and as efficiently as possible.
